Meet our board of directors

Back To ABOUT US
Mindy Eggleston - President
Picture

Mindy Eggleston holds a BS in Recreation Administration, and is an active outdoor enthusiast.    She and her partner Gene ran away from California 51 years ago, to find “the path not traveled” in rural Alaska! Settling in the Delta Junction area, there were opportunities to create a full rich family life, with dreams, goals and lots of hard work. Currently enjoying retirement and able to follow her passions, Mindy is the President of Delta Junction Trails Association.
Judy Olson Hicks - Vice President
Picture
Raised on the East Coast, Judy spent her youth in and around the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, Long Island Sound and Adirondack Mts. Lakes. Over 20 years ago she swapped canoe for dog sled and moved to Alaska. She has been a lifelong educator, teaching ages pre-school to adult, varied subjects from survival swimming to ecosystem ecology. Currently she lives on a hillside connected to trails, which she explores with her 5 energetic dogs.
Heather Stossmeister - Treasurer
Picture
Heather Stossmeister was born and raised in Alaska who currently teaches 4th and 5th grade at Delta Elementary. She is an active part of the community and involved in many different organizations.
Ellen Clark - Secretary
Picture
Ellen Clark grew up in Idaho, spending lots of time outdoors as a kid with her family. She and her husband Robert have been in Alaska over 25 years with no intention of leaving - Delta Junction is home. She loves exploring trails in winter via snow machine or skiing, and enjoys accompanying friends on dog mushing trips. Biking, hiking, a bit of paddling and gardening round out the summer. Over the last decade of working with DJTA, she has hosted or organized many of our annual events, and in recent years has enjoyed volunteering with the DES ski club.
Carol Dunlap-Austin - Director
Picture
Carol Dunlap-Austin is a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska.  She has resided in the communities of Tok, Salcha and the last 26 years in Delta Junction.  She has been involved in cross country skiing, hiking, kayaking, snow shoeing, snowmachining, 4 wheeling and whatever outdoor activity presents itself.  Currently Carol is retired from the State of Alaska and the Delta/Greely School District but still enjoys working with elementary students in the cross country ski program.
Dean Lambert - Director

Ellie Mason - Director
Picture
Ellie Mason has been in Alaska 18 years and spends as much time as possible outside enjoying all that our great state has to offer.   She has spent many years working as a wildlife biologist in remote field camps around the state but is now staying closer to home playing and exploring with her husband, two young sons and 5 dogs. She is currently working for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in Delta Junction. She has always enjoyed hiking, biking, paddling and skiing but has recently discovered the joys of owning sled dogs; skijoring and dog mushing are her newfound passions.

Meet our committee Leaders

Brandy Baker - Ski Club
Picture

Originally from Anchorage, Brandy has always enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hiking the trails in the Chugach Range, snowmachining in Glennallen, beachcombing in Ninilchik, or XC skiing on the vast trail systems in Southcentral Alaska. Brandy earned her B.S. in Biology at UAF where she competed for the UAF Nanooks XC ski and running teams. In her free time she coached for the Fairbanks Jr. Nordic and Comp group programs with the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks and the Pearl Creek Elementary afterschool XC ski program. She has coached the Delta elementary XC ski program since 2010 and is passionate about seeing a future XC trail system in Delta and a future Delta Huskies XC ski team. She enjoys trapping, ATV-ing, hunting, fishing, running and xc skiing with her husband and two young kids which have accompanied them via sled, bike trailer, or under her parka on multiple xc ski, bike, snowmachine and ATV trips since they were a couple of months old.
Andrea Eggleston - Graphic Design
Picture
Andrea Eggleston grew up in Delta Junction. Currently she teaches middle school art and coaches cross country skiing in Soldotna, Alaska. She loves any and all outdoor activity! Summer and winter holiday breaks are often spent playing in the Delta area with family, sharing the area she grew up in with her little girl. She looks forward to being part of the process to make recreation in the area even greater and more accessible.
