Mindy Eggleston - Chair

Mindy is a lifelong outdoor enthusiast. She holds a BA in Recreation Administration, Outdoor Education and Camping from California State University, Chico. Working for 23 years with the Delta/Greely School District; secretary, dishwasher, tutor counselor, teacher aide, she retired and found time to pursue new adventures. Mindy is active with the Delta Nordic Ski Club and served 6 years on the Northern Area State Parks Advisory Board. You may find her out on the trails ski joring or fat tire biking with her dog Bently, biking, hiking, snowmachining, kayaking, swimming, 4wheel off-roadin. She and her husband Gene are enjoying retirement here in Alaska. Their children and families are all in State, and their granddaughter & granddogs as well!
Judy Olson Hicks - Vice Chair

Raised on the East
Coast, Judy spent her youth in and around the waters of the Chesapeake Bay,
Long Island Sound and Adirondack Mts. lakes. Twenty years ago she swapped canoe
for dog sled and moved to Alaska. She has been a lifelong educator, teaching
ages pre-school to adult, varied subjects from survival swimming to ecosystem
ecology. Currently Judy shares 34 acres
in rural Delta Junction with her husband, 3 young children, 11 dogs, 15
turkeys, numerous chickens, a mealworm farm, and a guinea pig.

Carol Dunlap-Austin - Committee Member

Carol Dunlap-Austin is a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She has resided in the communities of Tok, Salcha and the last 26 years in Delta Junction. She has been involved in cross country skiing, hiking, kayaking, snow shoeing, snowmachining, 4 wheeling and whatever outdoor activity presents itself. Currently Carol is retired from the State of Alaska and the Delta/Greely School District but still enjoys working with elementary students in the cross country ski program.
Ellen Clark - Trails

Ellen Clark grew up in Idaho, spending lots of time outdoors as a kid with her family.
When the opportunity came to take a job in Alaska, she and her husband, Robert jumped at the chance. They moved to Delta Junction in 1997, and have been exploring and enjoying area trails ever since. She currently works on sustainable land management as a civilian for the Army, helping take care of the large Army training areas adjacent to Delta. Her favorite activities include biking and running in the summer and skijoring in the winter.

Steve McCombs - Secretary
Steve McCombs is a retired teacher, retired wildland fire dispatcher, long time RDVFD board member and former BOD present. He is married to the very popular Joyce McCombs who shares a depth of expertise about non-profits. Ellie Mason - Committee Member

Ellie Mason has been in Alaska 18 years and spends as much time as possible outside enjoying all that our great state has to offer. She has spent many years working as a wildlife biologist in remote field camps around the state but is now staying closer to home playing and exploring with her husband, two young sons and 5 dogs. She is currently working for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in Delta Junction. She has always enjoyed hiking, biking, paddling and skiing but has recently discovered the joys of owning sled dogs; skijoring and dog mushing are her newfound passions.
Brandy Baker - Committee Member

Originally from Anchorage, Brandy has always enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hiking the trails in the Chugach Range, snowmachining in Glennallen, beachcombing in Ninilchik, or XC skiing on the vast trail systems in Southcentral Alaska. Brandy earned her B.S. in Biology at UAF where she competed for the UAF Nanooks XC ski and running teams. In her free time she coached for the Fairbanks Jr. Nordic and Comp group programs with the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks and the Pearl Creek Elementary afterschool XC ski program. She has coached the Delta elementary XC ski program since 2010 and is passionate about seeing a future XC trail system in Delta and a future Delta Huskies XC ski team. She enjoys trapping, ATV-ing, hunting, fishing, running and xc skiing with her husband and two young kids which have accompanied them via sled, bike trailer, or under her parka on multiple xc ski, bike, snowmachine and ATV trips since they were a couple of months old.
Ellie Schneider - Committee Member

Ellie Schneider came to Fairbanks, Alaska
in 1972 with husband, Andy, 1 toddler & 1 infant. Moved to
Delta Jct. in 1975 where Andy worked on the oil pipeline, built a house &
stayed there! Home-schooled the 2 boys until high school age, went to
work as a lifeguard & swimming instructor at Ft. Greely pool, changed jobs
to teach PE at Ft. Greely school till it closed in 2000. Retired from
teaching in 2002, opened a dog boarding kennel and helped establish a pet
rescue organization. Her recreational activities include swimming,
kayaking & canoeing, walking, skiing, skijoring, and playing with any
dogs. Loves to explore, brush out & maintain any trails close enough
to the community to offer recreational activity for families and
visitors.
Andrea Eggleston - Graphic Design

Andrea Eggleston grew up in Delta Junction. Currently she teaches middle school art and coaches cross country skiing in Soldotna, Alaska. She loves any and all outdoor activity! Summer and winter holiday breaks are often spent playing in the Delta area with family, sharing the area she grew up in with her little girl. She looks forward to being part of the process to make recreation in the area even greater and more accessible.
